The Coed Llandegla NWMBA Cyffylliog MTB Challenge is back for 2007.  It starts from the small village of Cyffylliog near Ruthin, North Wales and takes and place on Sunday 10th June.

This event is part of one of the best off road challenge courses in Wales, and consists of two ‘grass roots’ XC courses.  The routes have always been stunning, fast and flowing with great single-track. This year the routes promise to be to be as challenging as ever, featuring new sections of single track trails.  The shorter route is more suitable for younger riders and families, whilst the longer route is aimed at the more ‘serious’ mtb rider.

There was a lot of very positive feedback from last years riders (over 200 riders from far and wide) on the two causes, so much of this years route may be familiar to past riders, but there will be some surprises for riders in 2007. We will of course be maintaining the fluent nature of the ride and take advantage of the many trails available in the area.  Both routes will be on single tracks, forestry fire roads, private land and minor roads.

The Cyffylliog Ride is not a big corporate affairs, the cost of entry is low @ £8.00 for pre-entries and £10.00 on the day, refreshments are available en-route and the rides end at the Red Lion pub in the village.  It is an annual event with an almost cult following from riders from the region a great time to meet old friends and ride with people completely new. As always, NWMBA will be donating any profits from the event to charity. Apart from a local charity this year we are hoping to support an international project set to purchase bikes for medical workers in Africa needing to help treat those suffering from Aids thinking local and biking global may be important for western cyclists in africa a medic on a biek for many is the difference between life and death please help us buy bikes low cost easy maintainable to help our friends in Africa through www.KonaBikeTown.com

To pre-enter, down load an entry form and post it with stamped addressed envelope, or turn-up and enter on the day, Sunday 10th June….

We have a colour promotional poster available and would welcme if you are able to down load and print a copy and pass to any bike shops or places in the region where potentially interested riders will be able to see it. As it is a charity event the more ridrs we get the more we are likely to hand over to the local community and AfricaBike
