NWMBA have been keen supporters of the project which has been devised by Denbighshire County Council's Countryside Service. It originated from the fall out of the foot and mouth disease crisis in 200 which killed rural tourism almost dead for a year. DCC contacted NWMBA for advice on trails and the sort of attraction the Clwydians offered, from that financial support was raised from Cadwyn - LEADER II (EU rural development fund) Adfwyio (Welsh Assembly FMD recovery money) as well as other funders. From this base they employed a full time officer on a 2 year contract, Jim, a NWMBA member now one of the partners of One Planet Adventure running the Coed Llandegla centre, rode and checked al lthe trails we used and created a number of routes whihc were promotoed by a web site, some on trail signing was produced but mainly to raise awareness of the project. From this project a further extension was made for Jim's post and the sister site was established promoting routes in the Mynydd Hiraethog ( Denbigh Moors)

Not only has the project been able to promote routes to ride in the area it has helped funding works for bridleway repairs, creating additional link routes and assisting wth events like the Merida MTB Marathon and developing Coed Llandegla.
